Definitely interested in hearing your opinion. Could it possibly be better than Falling Down? Maybe. Am I interested? Absolutely!

movie had an interesting plot and some good things to say but they spend the entire second half of the movie turning it into one giant left wing propaganda machine. had they kept it more balanced on who the villains were instead of making it seem like the right is the cause for evil in this world it would have been entertaining

Two totally different films based on tone. I wouldn't even compare them even if the central theme is the same.

Falling Down is an underrated masterpiece of 90s cinema, whereas God Bless America hits you over the head with its message because...it wants to.

It's far lesser a film and it shows, what, with the high-school-play acting by the supporting cast among other things. However, it's obvious that this is Goldthwait's intention. It's a humorous film with a dark message, but because of Goldthwait's intent - it comes off as too heavy-handed even for its own good.

Watched this a few weeks. I found it to be a nice mix of Falling Down, Natural Born Killers and Idiocracy.

I agree totally... this has so far been my favourite film of the year! It does go a little overboard in the latter half of the film, but still entertained and satisfied.

Thank you Deci.

Saw this through VOD a couple months back. I had high hopes though if you're going into it expecting more scenes similar to the trailer, you'll be sorely disappointed. All of the funny scenes happen in the trailer, the movie itself is just a long drawn out story of those scenes.

My thoughts exactly, word for word. It would have been much better if they just left politics out of it entirely.

Anyone pick this up? I know Best Buy has it for $19.99, but I was wondering if Target or Wal Mart is carrying it.

I bought it at Best Buy today. I really liked it, but like some above posters have stated, the political slant of the film is very blatant. They didn't try to hide it at all. I agreed with some of what the film had to say, disagreed with other things. But overall I had fun with it. Just be warned that if you are a very conservative person, this film is not for you.

It's a Hollywood film by Bobcat Goldthwait. This was unexpected?

Loved this movie.

Joel Murray was pretty great in it. He has a manifesto speech that he gives a fellow co-worker early in the film that is absolute aces.

I have to say Bobcat has really been a pleasant surprise as a director. There was another film he directed, World's Greatest Dad, that I also really enjoyed.

I'm in the UK but there isn't a BD release of it over here.

Anyone know if the US or Canada releases are region free or region-a locked; there's a German release but it's on a 25GB BD Disc which make me doubt the quality plus the packaging is horrible and minimalistic.

So glad I didn't blind buy this. I had just watched the funniest Bobcat stand-up comedy special and then seen him on Bill Maher mentioning this and thought I have to have it. Thankfully I couldn't find one to buy and the library got it to me quick. Just not what I was expecting and/or hoping for. Plus I had been beaten by politics for months prior, so that was the last thing I wanted to see in the movie. I'll give it another try in a few years when the politics clear my system.
