I so wish I was born in the UK and not in America, I mean... sure I love America but come on we don't have the cool accents.

Americans don't have accents?!
Reminds me of a story by a guy I trained with. He is now a citizen, but originally from Panama. He learned American English with a Midwestern accent, and when he came to the states for job interview in Alabama, the taxicab ride (no foreign cab drivers in Birmingham, now) frightened him into thinking he could never succeed in the states, because he could not understand a word the cabby said. Certainly, things are becoming more homogeneous, but as a Midwesterner, you should be able to distinguish Minnesota from Wisconsin from Chicago from St. Louis from Southern Ohio. What I want to know, is how the 's' got changed to a 'z' in -ize |
