Default Got A New Sound System!

Well new to me. It will suffice until I get a new Denon receiver in a few months. What I have now is the following

SOUND SYSTEM JVC RX-5020VBK
SPEAKERS ENERGY PS-500
SUB JVC SXPW650

The receiver was given to me from a family member
The speakers were bought from another family member
The sub came with the receiver.

Now I know this is not a newer receiver with the HD codecs, but with that said I have been very impressed with it. As it is now its can be too loud depending on source for my small room. It blows my previous set up away witch was a Panasonic SC-HT40 HTIB out of the water.

So I know this system is old by today's standards, but I would still like to know what you think about it. Remember this setup is in a very small room.

PS. My PS3 is sending the HD audio showing the TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio @ 4.0mbps ect (depending on film) via tos-link, Now I know that only HDMI will give you the HD audio so with a new system how much of a difference will I hear. Will the high audio bit rate be the same, or higher?

Thanks
