USA Scooby-Doo! and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery -- July 21st, 2015

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/m...sive/25917645/

So this seems to be happening. The trailer doesn't mention BD, but several sources are reporting it as such, and having "six" classic KISS tunes in DTS-HD MA 5.1 (not to mention a new song) is the main draw for me finally getting one of these modern DTV Hanna-Barbera movies.

We'll see, it could be fun, I know the wife will want it since she's a big Scooby fan.

I'm a huge KISS fan and actually watched Scooby Doo waiting in a Houston Hotel for Def Leppard and KISS concert last August.

I guess the plot line will be Scooby and the gang help Gene and Paul find out what happened to their real hair?

Day 1 for me... KISS is my favorite band, bar none. Even if it's complete garbage, I need it.

Hoping this gets a BD release but the last Scooby movie was reported to also be getting a BD release up until the day it was released on DVD and Digital HD only.

Going to keep my fingers crossed though.

It seems you are talking about Scooby-Doo! Monster Madness (2015) (if I'm looking that up correctly) which came out in February--I'll grant you that. In fact, I always thought it was strange that as many of these videos came out on BD as they did, and I'm not surprised that the previous one went DVD-only.

However, it seems strange to release the Flintstones WWE BD in February, then Detroit Rock City a week and a half ago, and then not release this cartoon in July. Plus, KISS is going to broaden the audience for this one considerably.

As you say, fingers crossed, and that's part of the reason I made the thread. Hopefully, a full press release confirms BD.

Yeah, my mistake, thought I had mentioned I was talking about Moon Monster Madness.

I can see this one getting a BD release as like you said KISS will help broaden it. WWE seemed to help get Flinstones a BD release.

Expect another DVD only release, especially as the trailer fails to mention Blu-Ray at all. Unfortunately the Blu-Ray releases just don't seem to sell well enough.

The last Scooby Doo DTV (Moon Monster Madness) and Tom & Jerry DTV (The Lost Dragon) were DVD only in the USA, and the next Tom & Jerry DTV (Spy Quest) will be DVD only too. So I would be surprised to Blu-Ray releases return again.

The article mentioned BD, and they got the info from Warner, so I imagine there will be one. This is a larger release than some of the recent DVD-only Scooby releases

If a Blu-Ray was planned, it would have be mentioned in the trailer. The trailer was direct from WB, but the article was not. Too often a 'Blu-ray/DVD' release is just assumed in articles, as they fail to double check the facts.

Except that I can't find anything on this release from WB themselves. Yes, there is a trailer, yes it seems official, but it could also be in error.

In fact, part of the reason I set up the thread was to demonstrate interest in a BD release, just in case it isn't planned right now.

That trailer has the usual announcer and WB copyrights at the end, it is clearly an official trailer from WB. WB don't announce their DTV titles until much close to the release date.

It would be better to wait until Blu-Ray release is confirmed next time. Maybe the Mods can move this thread to Wish List?

WB did skip over Blu-ray when they released Moon Monster Madness in February. I gotta admit it's not looking good for Blu-ray.

This isn't some far-off speculative release, but one with an impending release date of July 21st (according to present information). Beyond that, despite what the trailer says, there is the fact that reputable sources believe that this is coming on BD. I don't see the point of moving the thread at all unti we have something official from WB themselves that says the BD is not happening.

With this being a crossover with KISS it has a good chance at getting a BD. WB usually release's the crossover movies on BD.

Those being DVD only releases is why I still don't own them. They were week 1 purchases for me when being released on Blu-Ray, so hopefully they will go back to being Blu with this new release.

Funny enough, The Lost Dragon received an international release in Spain, Germany, and Mexico.

I'd be interested if Ace and Peter were on here, but with the imposters... f#ck it! Love Scooby-Doo and Kiss though.
