Post Center speaker is low during some movies unlike other movies !!

I was watching Finding Nemo 3D the last night , and the sound was amazing, bright and very smooth with low-med volume , even dialogue that was coming out from the center speaker was very clear that i didnt touch the volume once with the remote during the entire film.

But this morning, i was watching Blackhawk down, and the dialogue from the center speaker was pretty low and poor, and as for explosions, the lfe was amazing. Im tired of pushing the avr volume up to hear dialogue then lower the volume again when alot of LFE takes part.

I know that this may be a problem of when the recording of the film was taking part, but im pretty tired of it. Center speaker is already ''2dB'' higher than my fronts.

Both Blackhawk down and NEMO 3D were in DOLBY audio source. I only gave an example with these movies because i saw more movies with great sound from all speakers and some others with poor center quality and good LFE.Even for DTS.

Thanks.

Try using Dynamic Range Compression ( or Dolby Volume or Audyssey Dynamic Volume, depending on your sound processor). Those settings are designed to help when dialog gets overwhelmed by effects, which can happen when listening at lower volumes. btw, Blackhawk Down has a DD 5.1 track, not TrueHD. Try selecting the 5.1 PCM track instead, assuming your equipment is capable of handling high resolution audio.

My receiver is the ONKYO-TX SR 308. What do you mean by 5.1 PCM TRACK?

I can only choose the Night mode in receiver. Its either off,low or high. It doesnt really help in dialogue, or if it helps, other sounds are too low.

It is suppose to play hd audio, but when i watch a movie, it never was DOLBY HD or DTS HD on the receiver display. It shows only DTS or DOLBY D

Go to the disc's audio menu. You'll find the audio choices there.

That's unfortunate. Have you calibrated your system so that all speakers are outputting the same level at the listening position.

That usually means a problem with the player setup. What player do you have? How is it connected? And what are the player's audio settings?

When im playing a movie and open settings , In audio channel there is English DTS (Digital) or English Dolby (Digital). Thats the only option i got when watching a movie. The wdtv media player is connected with the receiver through an HDMI cable.

I replied in your other thread. The WD TV player does not appear to support lossless audio.
