Default Best way to back up PS3 save, etc for installing new HDD

I've decided to finally buy a 1TB HDD for the PS3. What is the best way to back up all my game saves? I really don't have much else on the PS3 itself that I'm concerned with.

Should I just find a USB stick and transfer all saves to it? Then install the new HDD?

Or is there a way to back up all the data directly onto the new HDD before installing it? (putting the 2.5 1TB HDD into some kind of USB case, I've seen them at Fry's but have never used one).

If I assume you want to back up your save files and not your game install files and other game and video files, using a USB stick is very easy to do. Just press the triangle button when you want to copy your save and move it to your flash drive. You can also use an external drive if you wish to back up your games and videos on your hard drive. (Edit: You'll need the external drive formatted to Fat 32 if you want to use it with a PS3)

You can also use PS+ to back up your saves into the cloud if you don't want to back up your saves manually.

Thank you. I do have PS+

Yeah, most saves. Somethings like PES 2013 soccer, I have quite a few created characters that I'm not sure are held in regular saves.

I don't care if I have to redownload patches, DLC and stuff like that.

Zero vidoes, a few pictures. But those are easy to transfer.

edit: Does the PS+ cloud have a feature to do all saves at once to cloud? I haven't really been using the cloud.

It's about time you joined the elite 1TB club Monkey! PS+ does have the ability to copy multiple game saves to the Cloud.

Thanks!

Yes, long overdue! Too much content that I'm not keeping on my HDD due to lack of space.

I was wondering what HD you picked up? My 320 GB is getting pretty full of PS+ games and I have been thinking if upgrading mine as well.
