United Kingdom The Mysterious Cities of Gold Season 2

Has anyone checked this out yet? I didn't even know it had come out, let alone out on Blu in the UK.

I love the original series and in fact got the DVD for Christmas and recently rewatched it. Am very keen to check this out but the price is a little steep at the moment.

We watched this when it was broadcast on Kix before Christmas. It was much better than expected. It's very much in the same style as the originals series but perhaps made for shorter attention spans. The original had a great musical score that felt a bit prog rock.

They have retained the educational segment at the end of each episode. these felt very basic but I suspect they were edited down so that Kix could fit in extra toy adverts.

i had my eye on it for ages, but i caught it on satellite too, and it didn't take long to decide i didn't like it - the characters are 3D rendered then cell shaded to look like old fashioned animation. just can't stand lack of animation in anything animated.

I've got the complete original series on DVD, but had no idea they had made a second series. Will definitely check it out.

It is left open for future series as well but I don't think I'll bother with those. Although I thought it was reasonable, it doesn't have the appeal of the original and I don't think I'd want to invest the time in watching any more.

Yeah, had this on pre-order for a while.

Working away from home this week so suspect that it's been delivered by now.

In the meantime I've bought the DVD release of the original series with me so that I can make my way through that before starting season 2.

Think I read somewhere a while ago that they're looking to do a third and possibly fourth seasons, popularity permitting.

Mine just arrived, and I have only had a quick look at the Blu-Ray so far, but the the audio/video quality looks great. The menus are simple, each disc only offers a choice of episodes.

The video is 1080p, and the audio is DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (48kHz, 16bit). A booklet with episode synopsis, and overview of character is included, along with a flyer advertising the video game.

There are no special features or subtitles, and the original French audio isn't included either.

The first series can't be beat IMO.

Although this new series does look interesting.

Just got mine - great quality and region-Free!

I fooled myself - I thought I was buying the second half of the original
series. I didnt realize this was the bluray of the newer series. It's totally okay because I was curious to see this newer series in English!

Still would be nice to get English audio original series on blu though!

Is it really region free? I just found out today that the set existed. I'd like to import it, if it really is region free. I don't think it's ever going to be released in America.

Ordered mine a couple of weeks a go and should be here soon. Am busy making my way thru the first series on dvd and I just love it.
Maybe soon that will make it to blu in English, heck I'd even settle for English subtitles.
