I have around 300 discs and none have ghosting.

Might you be refering to edge enhancement? (an extra line around edges on sharp objects because sharpness is set too high?) Or any other "enhancing" modes

My ghosting situation is a little different. I have a Panasonic 42" plasma. When the PS3 loading screen is on and then the screen changes to complete black (no signal), I can see faint traces of the PS3 icons, etc. Same thing with the "HDMI 1" logo. They go away, and you can't see them when there's a signal, but it's still annoying.

Any suggestions?

Stop gaming on a plasma? Go get an LCD for that.

And if you can't see it when the movie is on, is it really there?

Also, turn your brightness down and turn the sharpness down, the contrast doesn't need to be very high. Those things will help that a lot.

I'm talking about the boot-up screens on PS3; I hardly ever play a game and use my PS3 as a Blu-ray player. You know all the icons when you load a disc before you start the movie.

I've used DVE to calibrate my TV, with Sharpness off, and contrast and brightness set for proper white and black levels.

It's not burn-in, from what I've read, it's a static effect, but was wondering if anyone had ideas or had run into the same issue.

Thanks.

I notice it on mine if I leave the load screen on for a long time. I think it can be a lot of things, nothing serious. There are technical reason for this, I believe, I Don't know them, but it is my theory. I would talk to somebody WOO is more knowledgable with the tech stuff.

I think your ghosting may have more to do with refresh rates.

Such as a person walking across a room really fast or making a quick arm movement.

yea that is when it happens most of the time but on some movies and tv shows it dosnt happen even if people are moving fast. Is there any way i can fix the refresh rates to where it wont do this as bad?
