Are the provisioning servers down or something? I've rebooted my network at least 5x, my blu ray player a dozen or so times, and it just won't let me do anything that's not stream my own library or play discs.
When it tries to connect to the "internet video service" it says "a network error has occurred" .. but yet, Gracenote works. Firmware is up to date. LINK connection status: succeeded IP: x.x.x.x. Provisioning Server Connection Status: FAILED i've googled it and seen nothing for this player, but see that last year there was issues with this problem.. is it going on again, or am I missing something? |

So you are unable to use BDP's internet services.. Right?
This is a common issue with some Sony BDPs, for this you'll need to manually setup the network settings within the player by using Google's DNS. 1) Resetting > Reset to Factory Default Settings > 'Network Settings' 2) Network Settings > Internet Settings > 'Custom' > followed by Yes and Auto > When it comes to 'Select the Higher Priority Connection' - choose 'IPv4' --- for the next step select 'Custom' / 'Auto' for IP Address setting. 3) DNS Settings > Specify IP Address > Enter 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 - Continue > Select 'No' for proxy server... Lastly 'Save & Connect'. Once the process is completed, turn off the player for 2mins, power on and it should work smooth as butter. ![]() |

EDIT: So, I decided to screw it and just set everything to AUTO on network config, and it's using the Netflix DNS from the router and it's now working as it should be.. Pretty stupid is just randomly decides to work as it should. Last edited by Steel Panther; 12-28-2015 at 06:40 PM. |

![]() Personally I think the interface and software used in Sony's BDPs needs a radical redesign... Instead of relying on Opera they should develop their own software so they can have better control over things and could easily patch such technical issues. This specific network connection error hasn't been fully resolved since nearly a year now. |

lol when I turned it back on, it stopped working... i put the google DNS back in, Canadian Netflix worked again... I removed it, the US netflix worked. =P Thank god I have a Roku and I really don't need the apps to work.. This interface is better than the crap they had previously, but at least that worked =P |

Well save yourself some grief and don't watch Hulu on your BD player. You'll pull your hair out, unless you are like me and have none to pull

I had the same issue. Roku was and still is the only way I can watch Hulu, particularly Criterions on there. I don't know what was up with the Sony BDP & PS3, but I felt like I was back on 56k and dad would pick up the line disconnecting me with the connection losses and buffering
