United Kingdom Cheapest Region Free Blu-Ray Player in the UK

Sorry if there's a thread about this already, but I need to find the cheapest possible region free blu-ray player that you can readily buy in the UK for <£50
I have a Panasonic DMP-BD45 which can do the "Stop, 1, Play" trick, but that only works for some blu-rays, is there any that are region free out of the box that will play pretty much any disc from anywhere? I've just started collecting criterions too and it would be a nightmare if some of them arrive and they won't work

Not sure about under £50, but one of the Toshibas that can be made region free (via Aussie firmware) is £90 at Tesco, the BDX3100.

Hmmm, I guess £90 is a little out of my price range, as I have a player in my room with Netflix, region locked, and my parents have the Panasonic downstairs, I don't really want to fork out that much for something that won't have netflix but thanks for suggesting anyway

I want to get into Criterions myself, but I'm holding off getting a region free player, as I don't think my bank balance could stand anymore

The fact that I don't have a multi-region player was part of the reason I didn't pick up the US steelbook Blu-ray release of A Trip To The Moon. I should have picked it up anyway

Just keep an eye out for the other firmware changeable Toshiba's. The 3200 went down to £39.99 in Marks and you might spot a 3100 in Tesco's electrical aisle discontinued. You can't go multi-region without spending £100+ on a modded player.

Damn, wish I'd have spotted that because my mum works there haha, I think they've got rid of their electronics section now though :/

When abouts was this?

EDIT: Does anyone know if you can do that multi region firmware thing on a Toshiba BDX1300KB?

I think it was around the New Year so not that long ago.

Off the top of my head it's the 1200, 3100 and 3200. The 3300 and 1300 are new models which don't seem to be changeable. The 1200 had some playback issues with some Blu-rays while the 3200 has been well received.

Thanks, I'll look out for them on eBay, if I get one for cheap then I might sell my current blu-ray player for one
