Please discuss your Earthquake subwoofers in this thread. You can include pictures, reviews, or any other comments regarding your subwoofer.

Manufacturer’s Website (link to subwoofers and tactile transducers): http://www.earthquakesound.com/subs.htm

!!! A fun place for Earthquake Sound subs !!!

Though not as well known or popular as many other brands of home theater subwoofers and tactile transducers here at Blu-ray.com. I believe "Earthquake sound" subs to be one of the most under rated brands of subwoofers out there, or perhaps one of the best kept secrets !!! Earthquake subs are capable of some serious "quality" low-end bass and outright SPL if need be all in a smallish enclosure. Check'em out.......... try'em out and then get earthquake insurance for your home !!! You're gonna need it, enjoy !!!

Earthquake Sound makes a variety of subs in various finishes, sizes and prices for the home theater enthusiast.

Hey Andrew, what type of connections does that have? And that's a beautiful finish, I bet it goes great with the Dali's!

that is one beautiful looking sub. love Earthquake subs. I had 4 DB10's in my car with a 1,000W XTRPRO1000 ORION amp hitting 147.7db at 1 ohm (got 3rd place). and loved them but they are around 10+ years old. so got 2 ORION's just to have the same think in the car for show's. but if I can find 2 Earthquake subs for a good price I would replace my 2 8" YAMAHA's in back with my 2 infinity SP-12's. then I would have monsteris subs and no one would sleep. I still have my Earthquake subs maybe I can find some nice new boxs for the house but would have to find a house amp that will do 250 a channle at 4 ohms.

Hey Guys !!!

Sorry I haven't responded, hadn't checked the Subwoofer section in some time. This sub really is an earthquake, do check out the videos above. I think I mentioned before that I needed a sub that wasn't a coffee table but still had the ability to get low, do it effortlessly and not sloppy.

I was definitely surprised by this sub when I first hooked it up. At first I did the usual and played around with it. Well I thought..... turn the gain up 3/4's of the way and lets see what happens. All I can say is I'm glad it has a remote because I wasn't expecting what I got. Literally crap was vibrating and the room was pressurized. In the end I broke out the SPL meter and set the level. The special passive radiator has a lot to do with the output and it works to say the least. I've heard quite a few subs out there and wow Earthquake Sound knows what it's doing.

As far as any negatives, the only real thing I would like would be a sub EQ for a little more tweaking/control over the sound and room. However there is external EQ's for subs so it's not a huge deal. The VI series has more options.

Connections, there are a pair of line level (RCA) inputs and outputs and speaker level input/outputs. It really is a simple and straight forward sub that does what a subwoofer is supposed to do.

I'm not one for an easy endorsement, but Eathquake subs make it easy. The only other sub I was considering at the time was a JL and I couldn't find a good deal on one. No regret though as Earthquake does not disappoint at all.

Back in my car audio days (early 90's) I had the pleasure of playing around with a demo van from Earthquake Sound. I don't remember how much power was going to the subs but I do remember it had twelve 15" subs and it pounded hard.

Also had the pleasure of messing around with a couple of demo vehicles from Orion as well. I loved their older HCCA line of amps, I think that's what they were called.

Some of my favorite amps that I owned though were from XTANT, Precision Power (older Pro-mos line), Linear Power, and US Amps.

If your subs are still in great shape, put them to use !!!

Gentle bump for a new review done by "Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity" of the "Supernova MKVI Subwoofer". Review link above, last one on the Reviews list.

I have a MKVI-15 Black and a MiniMe 12" along with my Platine Noiree and PN-2515 systems in my house. It's completely an "earthquake sound" house and I love it. Couldn't recommend their products highly enough.

photos coming soon....

seriously, why does Earthquake Sound not get any love in the home theater community? I would put my Platine Noiree 7.1 set-up with the MKVI against many other systems. I love the sound and the looks of the speakers.

how do I post pics on here? Yeah, dumb question but I never do these things. I have my theater room on photopic.net Here is a link with all the pics. i don't have pics yet of my living room with the PN-2515 and 12" MiniMe from Earthquake Sound. I can provide more pics of the theater room if you want. Platine Noiree 7.1 with the MKVI 15" as well as Epson 1080UB projecting on a 161" Draper screen. Room is totally light controlled and sound proofed.

Very nice looking Home Theater !!! I bet you get a lot of joy out of that room.........

How does Earthquake Sound fare when it comes to speakers ??? I have read some very positive reviews so far. Plus a company like Earthquake Sound knows how to make a quality product, so I bet your setup sounds very fine indeed !!!

It's also nice to see someone else here with Earthquake Sound. Not sure why, but Earthquake doesn't seem to get the attention they deserve. For home theater duty, I couldn't be more impressed when it comes to my sub. It's nice to have a smallish box that doesn't take up valuable floor space or looks imposing. However, watch out !!! (George Lopez voice) Especially on a movie like The Watchmen !!! My sub continually impresses the hell out of me. So much nice undistorted deep bass it's scary ................

Glad you are participating !!! Big Daddy's gonna love your amp !!!

Please adopt me so that I can come over and enjoy your HT equipment.

There are two ways to post pictures:
  1. Upload your pictures to a site like Photobucket.com or assume there is a picture on a site that you want to post. Get the web address of the picture. For example, assume the address of the picture is Htttp://www.photobucket...../Earthquake.jpg

All you have to do is go back to your document that you are posting and put an statement in front of the address and a at the end of the statement anywhere in your document. For example like this:

    Htttp://www.photobucket...../Earthquake.jpg

Please note that I intentionally misspelled HTTTP and put spaces after because the stupid Blu-ray editor may interpret them as real pictures.
  2. Assume you have a picture on your computer at home called Subwoofer.jpg. Go down to the bottom of the document that you are typing and click on Manage Attachment. Identify the location of the picture files on your computer and upload them. You can only upload up to 5 files per post and there are limits to the size of each picture. If the size of the files is too large, you have to go to a picture editor program and reduce its size.

After you have uploaded your pictures, go back to your document and click on the icon on top that looks like a Paper Clip. Click on the Paper Clip and you will see the files you have uploaded. You can place them anywhere in your document by clicking on the file names.

thanks Big Daddy! Glad you guys like the set-up. The amp is a 7 channel and the I have the Onkyo PR-SC885P PreAmp.

http://www.onkyopro.com/model.cfm?m=...eamplifier&p=i

Here's the amp:

http://www.earthquakesound.com/cng_7.htm

I was worried about the Epson 1080UB projecting on a 161" screen but it looks absolutely stunning. The best sounding Blu-Rays I have listened to in the theater room thus far is:

28 Weeks Later (for the high pitched screams of the infected)
Transformers (for the ridiculous bass)
The Hills Have Eyes Import (The bass on the music is so loud it rattles out glassware upstairs in our house)

Default Just got one

Just purchased a S-10 Supernova Kompressor off of ebay. Can't wait to get it in the mail, though the wife is going to go absolutely bonkers (and not in a good way.) Will definitely follow up with pics because I also just added some recliners, so my gallery will be in dire need of an update.

My Earthquake Kompressor S-10 came in today. Didn't get much time to break it in before heading off to work. But the short time I did get to break it in I was very impressed, you could almost hear the sub getting better by the second. I can't wait to get it all broken and really let it thump. I have it on riser I put together quickly, I need to finish it cosmetically still.

Have spent a little time repositioning and breaking in the S-10 and all I can say is wow. It's just a fantastic performer for music and home theater. I think Earthquake has found a new loyal customer, I would definitely have them at the top of the list for a future upgrade.

Congrats !!! Glad you are enjoying your sub as much as I do mine. I really think it's unfortunate that this company gets overlooked as it does. I guess It's like a well kept secret. One of the things that made me consider Earthquake in the first place was that there subs are not gigantic, but you get enormous performance. People are just gonna have to experience these subs in person to believe it. I have heard a lot of subs out there & unless you want some big box in your room you will have a hard time finding a smallish sub that will out perform the Earthquakes.

Enjoy your sub !!! When it finally gets broken in all the way you will definitely be treated to some serious deep bass that will bring a smile to your face.
