what is the best 720p projector that is under 1k?

i don't have much experience with 720p projector yet so if you guys happened to run across one, please let me know how it is, i tried to look for reviews online but so far i have no luck
My projector right now is 480i i believe, with 13 foot throw range. I'm almost interested in the optoma hd70 because they have like $200 rebate on it right now before oct 31, total would be 799 after rebate. What is your recomendation>?

Sony VPL-AW15

Its 1100$ but IMO its worth every penny. Accepts 1080p and even does 24 frames

But when compared to other projectors, this one is a bit dim. The OP may want to give the size screen being used to give a better answer too.

You may want to look into the following for DLP: Mitsubishi HC1500 (Very bright projector, if you need the horsepower), Optoma HD70 for cost factors.

For LCD: BenQ W500 (which has the Reon chip), Panasonic AX100U (saw it online for 1100 and is a bright projector and the smooth screen technology would help with screen door effect), the Sony as mentioned from above.

You may want to check out Projectorreviews.com for some in-depth reviews on all the projector's mentioned. Also AVS Forum has a lot of information on these projectors as well.

thanks you for the inputs guys, i did ordered the Optoma HD70, $804 with $200 rebate so it's $604 plus shipping. Now i just have to order mount and HDMI cable =)

Wow, great price for the HD70, the cheapest I've seen is $700 after the rebate. So you definitely got a good deal...hope you enjoy the projector.
