Default The Quay Brothers: Collected Short Films

I hadn't seen a dedicated thread for this upcoming release:

https://www.blu-ray.com/The-Quay-Bro...n-35mm/506866/

Per Amazon, the October 20th release date has been moved back to November 24th, but take that with a grain of salt.

Since there's absolutely no chance to get a release in France (the Quay Brothers' recognition is too confidential here), I really hope there will be soon a region B/UK edition so that I can rediscover their work (I've seen a few of their shorts as well as Institute Benjamenta when I was student in fine arts but it's way too far to really remember them).

The title has now changed:

And as confirmed by a second Amazon reviewer, that person either has a bad copy or needs to update the player's firmware. There's nothing wrong with the pressing.

Can anyone who's seen this comment on how significantly the new picture quality improves upon the SD image of the previous US and/or UK sets? I'm considering upgrading but have yet to see a review that bothers to include that info.

Man, talk about a release flying under the radar. Besides the fact that there are still almost new reviews (and absolutely zero that even attempt to compare it to the previous SD releases), this new set is either out of stock or not even listed at several major sites such as BN.

Hi everyone, I'm searching for a copy of this at a reasonable but non-scalper price. Please let me know if you have one for sale/trade

Wow. The prices on eBay are even higher. I’m guessing you do not have a region-free player. The BFI set from the UK is still reasonable and it actually is (in my opinion) the better of the two editions. Although…you really need both sets, as each has short films not found on the other.

Sorry I can’t help you out. That’s a shame they are hard to come by at a reasonable price.
