Default Childhood favorite that's not so hot anymore?

I have been on a retro binge lately. My Netflix queue is full of 80's movies that take me back to my childhood. However, I've noticed a common theme among the movies: they're nowhere near as good as they were 25 years ago. Take, for instance, Red Sonja. It used to come on all the time on TBS and I watched it religiously, but I watched it last week for the first time in years, and it was HORRIBLE!!

Another one that sucked big goat balls was Short Circuit. It was so boring I couldn't even stay awake. (I can't believe how bad the script was on that one, too.)

What other movie has lost its luster since you've gotten older??

Sorry, but Short Circuit sucked back then too.

As for others, the issue is that after a concept is created, newer films are less original but they exploit the idea further, making the original seem less dramatic. Also newer films execute the techincal details better. The newer film looks better and seems edgier when actually it's a shallow copy of the original.

Just the nature of time.

To answer your question though... all Indy Jones movies.

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I just went crazy when I watched it, especialy when the zords came up. Now that I look back on it...what the hell was I on when I watched it?

Not movies so much....But G.I.Joe definitely didn't grow with me.

Um...Bram Stoker's Dracula was a lot cooler when I originally saw it...now...kinda corny, but still watchable.

(Not even trying to notice that StarWars post)

Funny. I was surfing last night and found Lost in Space (the TV series) on ALN. First time I've watched it since I was a kid in the early 70's. I used to love that show.

GAWD was it horrible!
