Great! They're selling it for a much higher price now to please all of the idiots who complained about the decent price of season 1!

I thought they were complaining because the episodes were the syndicated versions. I haven't been following this release so I don't know but is the first season uncut? I might spring for this set IF the episodes are intact.

A few people around the internet complained that season one that is coming out soon was selling too cheap at $18-$20 retail. Now, it's over $30 retail (same MSRP, and still reasonable), so they got their wish. As someone who bought the rip-off DVDs, I was perfectly happy with $18-$20 to replace them. Oh well, now the retail price is in line with certain other series.

These new releases are the original uncut broadcast versions of the show from the original negatives. The DVDs from a few years ago were the syndicated versions, which were cut to various degrees. The older DVDs also suffered from the wrong speed so that everyone's voices were noticeably high pitched.

These news sets should be great.

I'm guessing they had HUGE pre-order sales for season one and that's why they're raising the price. I was going to get the first season for my Mom because I remembered her saying she loved the show when it was on. But I asked her if she would like to have it and she said she watched some episodes on TV a few years ago and couldn't get through it. lol

I think everyone seems to be confusing the current Wal*Mart Pre-order price with SRP From what I can see both season 1 + 2 retail from approx 38.99/39.99. The pre-order prices took a while to drop to the current low pre-order price. Just because Wal*Mart has it as 33.96 right now doesn't mean amazon etc won't have a cheaper price before release date.

Glad to see season 2 coming out already, but I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. If they come out with all of the seasons this quickly, money is going to become an issue for me real quick.

I'm not surprised to see the price higher than season 1. I was figuring they would do that - start off with season 1 cheap and then season 2 would go higher. Still not a bad price for a full season, but hopefully it doesn't get higher from here.

Little House On the Prairie? I thought this was a good-natured happy kind of show? Is this a different one than that?

I don't understand why a show like that would have a 17+ warning on the website D:

People get offended by any little thing today. There might be a character who smokes a pipe during an episode or something silly like that.

Some might see it as a kids show because it has kids in it. The show is extremely mellodramatic. I can’t give any examples without ruining episodes but characters are constantly ill, dying, or having all sorts of bad things/situations happening to them (bullys, bigots/racism, drugs, etc). It’s been a while since I’ve watched it but I’m sure it has it’s moments that require some maturity. Not much but some. It's not something all little kids can deal with. It also has a lot of happy drunks in goofy situations in it, if I remember correctly, and some parents wouldn't want their kids seeing that.

Pretty clear it was a mistake since it's now listed as "not rated."

Default I love little house!!!

Compared to most of today's shows...Little House was perfect. I have 4 children and they all love it. Our 5 and 7 year old children will ask to watch it over cartoons. The shows deal with death sometimes and tragedy but NOTHING that has scared our children. The show teaches kids about love, respect and hard work and that they should appreciate what they have in life.
The stories and moral lessons are good for all ages. Children have to accept the fact that death is also a part of life. How do we get through it and handle it is the key....the show is the best and most heartwarming. Michael Landon (my favorite actor of all time) was a genius!!! He is wonderful in his role as Charles...as he is in every role he played!!! I'm so very happy that this beautiful series is coming to Blu Ray...remastered and uncut. It's a dream come true for me and I KNOW Micheal is in Heaven smiling....I'm so happy, I could jump for joy! I love you Michael Landon 4-ever!!! Buy this series and show your children what great movies are like!!!

With season 2 getting announced so quickly after season 1, I wonder how quickly the other seasons will be coming?

And I wonder if these will actually be carried in retail stores, or online only like so many titles these days? A show like this should be in stores - it is very well known and liked and for the price I think they should sell pretty well if people actually know it's out there. And it's still a great family show today - sure there's some heavy topics at times but I see nothing wrong with that. Also this show doesn't really feel dated because it's a period piece anyways - so other than it moving a bit slower than today's shows do, it's still very watchable. It always looked so authentic - I was always amazed that they made this show look so authentic, season after season, on a tv budget. There was an awful lot of outside shooting that must have been difficult and time-consuming.

Yeah Walmart is real funky with their ratings. When I was 11 I tried buying a season of Friends on DVD, and they said that the policy was that you must be 17 to buy a season of a TV show due to its not rated rating. Not a law or anything, just company choice. However, that was 2009, things may have changed.

Its not up at Amazon yet. I hope season 2 will come with Ultraviolet like season 1. That's the only part I really want.
