Default ? about Toshiba TV's

I know that we all have a small grudge against Toshiba in regards to their little Bastard child HDDUD....but I was wondering if anyone has a Toshiba LCD TV and if they are any good. I have found a good deal on a Toshiba REGZA 47HL167 47" 1080p LCD HDTV with 3 HDMI's, and am on the fence....any thoughts/help?

Thanks.

i will not support toshiba's CE products. i know they have a hand in other things, the CELL B/E for instance, but that's beside's the point. their tvs are average, some have had pretty subpar reviews though...

I regret enormously that I purchased one of their Regza as a gift for a friend whom happened to own a DVD player of the same brand. Never will I put my hand on a tosh*t.

I will not support Toshiba in any way, besides Samsung, Sony, Panasonic and Pioneer Elite make much better TV's in my opinion.

Plus they are Blu supporters

That is why I am on the fence about this deal....I don't want to give them any money, but I was under the impression that their TVs were decent.

You regret it, because it is a Tosh*ta or because the TV it self is bad?

By the way, I have a rant against toshiba and their TV...

I bought à toshiba 34'' HDTV CRT around 3 years ago. I had banding problems like everyone else that had the same TV with 1080i with HDMI connexion and the ''white glow'' problem with the component cables. I had a 3 year garanty with my seller (tanguay) and they were able to repair the banding problem. After some reasearch, I found out that my TV was built by Orion cause toshiba didn't produce CRT anymore...

However, I think their LCD are ok... you can read review here
http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-32306264.html
Personally, I won't buy Toshiba TV anymore...

I have noticed that with a lot of Toshiba products (actually, all of them that I've owned) they only work properly when connected to other Toshiba products. For instance, my Toshiba 26" CRT HDTV only looks normal when a progressive DVD player made by Toshiba is connected to it. Blu-Ray and other HD materials end up with bands through them and have major sharpness issues. Reds tend to bleed over onto other colors and have lines through them. Very odd... But it's that reason I will not be buying another Toshiba TV.

PS> I haven't tried my HD-DVD player on that TV yet, so I don't know how well it handles HD materials coming from another Toshiba product but I am guessing it'd be fine...
