Default Ex-Infinity Ward Duo West and Zampella Announce Respawn At EA

EA has announced the formation of Respawn Entertainment, a brand new development studio headed up by ex-Infinity Ward founders Jason West and Vince Zampella.

The newly formed studio is currently in the process of assembling a crack team of designers, artists and engineers before starting work on new projects for EA.

"Respawn Entertainment marks a fresh start for Jason and me," said Vince Zampella, now General Manager of Respawn. "For the past decade we led a great development team and poured our hearts into creating an epic game franchise. We’re very proud of what we built – and proud that so many millions of fans enjoyed those games. Today we hope to do it all over again - open a new studio, hire a great team, and create brand new games with a new partner, EA."

Respawn Entertainment? I wonder what type of games they will make?

My guess is puzzle games.

Well, I know Activision Blizzard is counter-suing them, so I hope their mind is on their work Be interesting to see what their new projects are though...

I'm very happy with them joining someone that could possibly help create another franchise that *maybe* could rival COD?

Here's a link to an LA Times article talking about the new deal. I guess this shows EA regrets letting them get away from Medal of Honor.

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...tory?track=rss

Hopefully, they can bring something new to the table that will differentiate them from what we're seeing in CoD, MoH, and Battlefield.

Aren't all these guys the same that started at EA and made the Medal of Honor series before jumping over to infinity and CoD?

Yep.

And more or less the same issues that caused them to leave EA were starting to rearup with ActivisionBlizzard before they canned West and Zampella.

Default Activision targets EA in $400 million lawsuit

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Activi....html?x=0&.v=3

Quote:
Activision has added another target to its lawsuit against former employees Jason West and Vince Zampella, who left the company following the alleged non-payment of royalty cheques. Electronic Arts is now in the firing line, as the lawsuit's allegations state that West and Zampella were being courted to join EA as early as July 2009, with a secret meeting apparently transpiring between EA chief executive John Riccitiello and the Infinity Ward co-founders back in August 2009.

Lol the name suits perfectly. I'm pretty sure I still won't be buying their EA branded CoD type game though.

edit: Wow, just realized the name is super old news!

The most important question.......

Were they able to retain any of the MW engine, or do they have to start development from scratch?

I think they was better off at activision making cod games...i mean yea they might have had some differences....But i hear EA isnt any better..and i like madden but i hate the idea they have with the online codes...i dont know if its like that with all there games like medal of honor tho...But yea i think they was still making good money with the mw franchise either way...I wondered if activision still has rights to the name modern warfare & all that? And does infinity ward still exist or will treyarch be the cod game maker for now?

Again, DonRSD? If you don't like anything related to Call of Duty or Infinity Ward, then don't bother *****ing about it.

I'm excited to see what Respawn Entertainment can give us.... maybe a solid Medal of Honor game that's actually good? But what about Robert Bowling? Is he still staying at Infinity Ward?

First look at Respawn's game, these pictures were unblurred from teaser images released by Respawn.

CoP eas version of COD about cops post nuke explosion

Then once the title is super popular well get a rotating spin off from the BF team using the frostwire engine and it'll be a prequel of sorts about life being a cop before the explosion.
