I love listening to the commentaries on Blu-ray, (I know many do not).
There are some wonderful commentators out there, but there are some that I dread listening to because I find their voices or speech patterns grating. Some of them say absolutely nothing interesting, some just comment on what we ourselves are seeing on the screen (really guys ...do you need to tell us what we are watching?) others have long gaps between short sentences and some just read through their text as if they are trying to get as much information out as possible while not talking to us. Others are just plain irritating even though they have clout (Drew Capser) Some try to be funny but often fail (Peter Bogdanovich) some sound like their vocal chords have been cut (Steven Faber) or are extremely nervous. Then there are some who truly know the film and have interesting facts and tidbits to share and have warm accepting voices (Nick Redman probably has the best voice and Francis Ford Coppola is also very good) Some times I can't get through a commentary if the speaker is bad even though the information may be interesting. Are there some commentators you can do without |
