Default The Bad Education Movie

Quote:
The Bad Education Movie has started production in Cornwall, based on BBC Three’s hit comedy series.

The movie will shoot for five weeks on location in the UK.

Comedian and actor Jack Whitehall returns as teacher Alfie Wickers alongside the TV show’s regular cast, including Sarah Solemani (Him & Her), Mathew Horne (Gavin & Stacey), Harry Enfield (Kevin & Perry Go Large) and his class of pupils Ethan Lawrence, Layton Williams, Nikki Runeckles, Kae Alexander, Weruche Opia, Jack Binstead and Charlie Wernham.

Jack Whitehall commented: “It’s very exciting to be bringing Bad Education to the big screen. It’s great to be reunited one last time with my amazing class of kids before they get ripped apart by puberty. We wanted this film to be about the mother of all school trips but sadly the Cumberland Pencil Museum wouldn’t let us film there so we have gone for Cornwall instead.”
Bad Education Jack Whitehall

The official synopsis reads: “Alfie Wickers is probably the worst teacher to (dis)grace the English education system, but no one cares about their pupils quite as much as Alfie does. Having completed their GCSEs, Alfie is keen for his class to join him on one last hurrah and what follows is a coming of age story like no other.”

The Bad Education Movie is co-written by Jack Whitehall and Freddy Syborn (Bad Education) and directed by Elliot Hegarty (Bad Education).

Love the show and looking forward to this. Wish the series would get a US release though.

Never watched the show, but Jack Whitehall tends to flip between being really funny and getting right on my tits, so I'm 50/50 on this one, the track record of UK sitcom adaptation is less enthralling however.

I found him funny in this series. I haven't seen to much of his work so I can't really compare it to past performances.

I do hope this is more along the lines of the Inbetweeners movies.

Hope it hits VOD here after the UK theatrical run is completed like the Inbetweeners Movie did. Love Jack, love Bad Education as a show so I have high hopes for this.

Comes out in over a month and there's no footage?

Did the second Inbetweeners Movie come out in the US, by the way?

The Inbetweeners 2 went straight-to-VOD in the US.

Anyway, every time I see this thread, I keep thinking it's about Almodovar's movie.

I think this weekend, Ted 2 has only just come out today.

Hang about. This is set in High School after the students have finished their GCSE's? I get that he a bad teacher but that not even legal to take then on a drinking party. I can't imagine the show would be this ridiculous.

That aside, trailer had a couple of moments and a few sinkers, I don't think it'll be particularly good though. At the moment I think the film will fall between the holy tri-force of abysmal UK sitcom adaptations in recent memory and the watchability of The Inbetweeners and Alan Partridge.
