Just got back from Wal-Mart, they're repackaging "Bond" flicks on blu-ray for bargain prices. And they do come stickered "Only at Wal-Mart."
I just picked up both.. Sean Connery Vol. 1 (Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger) Sean Connery Vol. 2 (Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, and Diamonds Are Forever) The blu-ray triple features are priced at $14.96 They also had.. Daniel Craig double-feature (Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace) Pierce Brosnan Triple-feature (Goldeneye, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day) .. had they included "Tomorrow Never Dies" and not "Die Another Day" I would've bought that one. Lastly NO LOVE for the Roger Moore or Tim Dalton-era movies on blu-ray sets. |

Sounds cool. I have the Bond 50 box, but always wished they'd put out volumes. Dalton's two seem like a no brainer for a double feature. They probably should've made Brosnan's four into 2 double features. Or a 4-movie set!

I don't think they would come with UV codes, as Skyfall is the only Bond film that is UV eligible. |

Does the Connery set #1 contain all 3 titles on seperate blu-rays, or are they pulling a Warner Triple feature and putting 2 titles on one disc and the third on its own disc ? Blu-ray.com and walmart.com have no info, and the packaging doesn't say

Since when has Warners ever done that? All the Warner Triple Features I own have just been repackagings of the individually released versions.

I didn't mind them doing it for that set, but 007 is another matter ![]() |

LMS & LBS are only available on 1 disc. They have not have separate releases.

When I picked up the Bruce Willis set there was no description of how many discs there were. It felt too light to be a 3-disc set so I figured it was 2-on-1 disc and 1 by itself. For $9.96 I wasn't complaining.
These Bond sets make me wonder if they're 3-disc sets. Walmart sells individual Bond Blu-rays on the same shelf for less than $10 each; these triple features go for $15 a pop with no mention on the package of how many discs are inside the case. I don't carry a scale in my pocket and it's hard to tell by feeling the weight how many discs you're getting. I'm not saying that Walmart or MGM are trying to pull a fast one, but is letting us know how many discs we're getting really too much to ask ? ![]() Last edited by xwrestling; 03-15-2013 at 03:04 AM. |
