Default Do you think LOST will sell well on Blu-ray?

I think it will do really well. Disney has really come through for us.

I pre-ordered it at Amazon.com already ($66.95).

Hopefully Best Buy or Circuit City has a good sale on this the first week. $90+ SRP will stunt sales out of the gate at B&Ms. If they can get the price down to $69.99 or less it should move some decent numbers.

It'll sell well for its SRP yes

No I doubt that not having seasons 1 and 2 will matter. Most people have them on DVD or have the ability to rent them who would buy season 3 at an additional 25 premium

I've noticed when shows come out in HD, be it Lost, the Sopranos, or Superman Returns that they start with later seasons. Why is that? Does it have anything to do with the later seasons being broadcast in HD?

I'm not normally the grammar police, but....

The thread title should be: Do you think Lost will sell well on Blu-ray.

And, I don't really know... but I'm definitely picking it up.

I think Lost will sell extremly well, along with 24 season 6, when Fox decides to give it to us.

I won't be picking it up until they come out with the 1st 2 seasons (which I have on dvd) as I don't like my stuff broken up into dvd and HD.

Considering the HD broadcast looks great in 1080i already
imagine how good the 1080p version will look.

I don't see the allure of buying a TV show on any media format but if I wasn't current on watching the show I would rent it in a heartbeat.

In fact, my wife and I are watching Heroes season 1 now that we have rented since we didn't watch it on TV.

Because that tis the current season they're promoting, and also the one people haven't already bought on DVD. With the huge expense of making a TV DVD set they need every shot at making back the $$ as possible. Eventually they'll start releasing the back seasons

Like others have said, I think it will sell pretty well considering the price. I know I'm looking forward to picking it up.

Of course he does. I sat here for 5 mins before I posted that and didn't even think about Smallville. oops. Thanks for setting the record straight.

Prison Break is going back and starting with season 1 instead of releasing season 2 back when it came out on SD DVD. I'm not sure why they do it differently for different shows. Just preference I guess.

Probably because they had season 1 done up last year would be my guess, that it would have been out months ago if not for the AACS fiasco

That is also probably another reason that the more recent seasons of the shows probably don't have as much work to port them over to blu-ray as some of the older season do. Lost should do very well it has been one of the top sellers on amazon for blu-ray for a while.
