Default Marvel Knights Animation Presents Inhumans April 23

The announcement is for DVD but I'm assuming that a blu-ray release will also be available.

Quote:
This spring, Marvel fans will have the chance to journey into the intriguing, millennia-old city of Attilan where the extraordinary super-powered race of Inhumans reside. Developed by the acclaimed Eisner Award-winning team of Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee, the exciting adventures of King Black Bolt and his royal family are brought to life when Marvel Knights Animation's "Inhumans" DVD debuts for the first time on home entertainment shelves nationwide on April 23, 2013 from Shout! Factory. A must have for loyal fans, comic book enthusiasts and collectors, this stunning Marvel Knights Animation presentation is packed with insightful bonus content and a graphic rich cover, and features a unique comic book style plastic sleeve that bridges the comic book to DVD concept. Marvel Knights Animation's "Inhumans" DVD is priced to own at $14.97.

Marvel Knights Animation remains true to the heritage of panel-by-panel graphic storytelling, boasting groundbreaking illustrations, sensational soundscapes, and of course, the explosiveness of the Mighty Marvel Universe. Behind every image and every word lies the genius of Marvel’s celebrated creators.

Synopsis
The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel's most enduring oddities. A race of genetic outsiders, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigen Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers--some extraordinary, some monstrous.

But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt, repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defenses, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt's insane brother, Maximus the Mad?

This popular series takes a classic Marvel cast of characters, and infuses it with a modern sensibility that includes international politics and an awareness of class systems. Dark and grimly compelling, the "Inhumans" is one story that won't be forgotten any time soon.

Bonus Features Include:
A Look Back At The Inhumans with Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Jenkins, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and Supervising Producer Kalia Cheng.

Total Feature Running Time: +/– 132 minutes

These are the Marvel characters that Disney should make a legitimate movie for, instead of Guardians of the Galaxy. Black Bolt is one of Marvel's most underrated characters. I have a feeling they are currently tied to Fox's Fantastic Four movie license.

An R-rated Inhumans movie could be incredible.

Never liked the Inhumans. And I'm not a fan of Motion Comics. So this gets a pass.

And don't expect a Blu-ray release. I don't think any of the Marvel Motion Comics have gotten one.

The reasonably entertaining and on-canon Joss Whedon Astonishing X-Men MC's made it to Blu, but the dreary, depressing, gratuitously artsy-noiry Marvel Knights MC's haven't escaped digital download, AFAIK.

Astonishing X-Men making it to Blu-ray makes sense. As it's a collection of 4 Motion Comics dvd releases.

Plus X-Men are a much more marketable and well known property than the Inhumans.

You may want to check again because there have been several motion comic releases on Blu-ray. Outside of Astonishing X-MEN, I remember an Iron Man and Spider Woman motion comic a few years ago.

It's a Motion Comic. As I've read this story. And the Comic Websites confirm it. And outside of Astonishing X-Men, not really.

I had to go back and double check...you may be right. Anyways, there have been several motion comic releases on blu-ray of which I added to my post above. So I don't see why they wouldn't do this one as well.

Most would know the Inhumans from their interactions with the Fantastic Four over the years. Crystal had a serious relationship with Johnny Storm and was a member of the FF at times.

How about a whole episode?:

(And yeah, apart from Medusa, they're not very interesting, are they? )

I love the F4:TAS, watched it all but not in a very long time. Season 2 was so much better.

I might bite but it will depend on the price of it. There isn't too many Marvel animated features that I like... well... hmn... looks like none of them :-( I have enjoyed Spider-man TAS & X-Men TAS [from the 90s] other than that, DCU has filled my animated features and boy, have they been good :-D When it comes to Marvel, the only thing you hear is Spiderman, Captain America, X-Men, Thor, Fantastic Four, amongst others I think. Other than that little bubble, there isn't much that I know :-( Oh and yes, I know few more characters due to Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Other than that, it's all new to me.
I'm willing to give this a try and see how it is. Something new :-D

I own all the MK releases... but they really don't jump out at me (all were blind buys). The only memorable one was Iron Man Extremis.

I've seen Extremis on Netflix (and should be able to understand most of whatever one or two remaining threads show up in Iron Man 3) and sat through the dreary, ugly, wrist-slittlingly downbeat "Spider-Woman: Agent of SWORD", but I haven't yet worked up the urge to watch the angry, political race-paranoid spin on Black Panther.
I have the feeling I'm not missing much, either.

Marvel toons had the glorious 90's Fox X-Men as the bar to live up to, but the 90's UPN Marvel Action Hour was jawdroppingly bad for the first 12-episode year. (Season 1 of F4:TAS looked like it was made by the Ninja Turtles....The 80's version.)

What you're looking at in the clip is S2, where both F4 and Iron Man (which was almost as bad in its first year) both rebooted themselves from scratch by--of course--bringing back producer/story editor Larry Houston from the 90's Fox X-Men series.
Shows, don't it? Why use anybody else?

You can avoid that Black Panther cartoon, it's awful. Horrible voice acting, cheap animation, and a very odd storyline. BET occasionally runs it in the dead of night.

"Marvel Knights Animation's "Inhumans" DVD is priced to own at $14.97".

I've always hated that sales-phrase. It just reeks of "something you wouldn't want AT ALL if it wasn't available at a bargain-basement price".

That said, I dig the Inhumans, and have since the 1960's! I will definitely check it out. But my love of animated films has dried up since they quit ACTUALLY DRAWING THE DANGED THINGS. CGI-rendered animation leaves me cold. I have high hopes, but low expectations.

Or that it even dates back to VHS, when only a select few mass-audience titles would be under $50 and on store shelves.
Every disk has now been "priced to own" since DVD (except Criterion), and we're still saying it!
