Evidently the Blu-ray is scheduled more than a month after the DVD (5/11).

The blood wars begin in Peter and Michael Spierig's Daybreakers (review) on June 21st! Making its Blu-ray Disc and DVD debut this Spring from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, the film stars two-time Academy Award® nominees Ethan Hawke (Actor in a Supporting Role, Training Day, 2001 and Adapted Screenplay, Before Sunset, 2004) and Willem Dafoe (Actor in a Supporting Role, Platoon, 1986 and Actor in a Supporting Role, Shadow of the Vampire, 2000). Edward Dalton is a researcher in the year 2019, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world's population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.

I HIGHLY doubt that the Blu-ray will be a month behind the DVD. I'm sure that they will release the same day.

I sure hope it doesn't come out a month later. Seems like just yesterday we were celebrating all Blu-rays coming out on the same date as DVDs.

I'll probably rent the film. I liked it in theaters but I have to see it again before buying it.

Same here, it will be on May 11th.

It won't be the first time Bloody-Disgusting got a story wrong.

I'm wondering then, why does Amazon have a release date for the DVD but none for the Blu-ray? Was Lionsgate not going to release a blu-ray, and if they are why didn't they announce it (to Amazon at least) when they did the DVD?

The chances of a same date release for DVD and Blu-ray are 99.99%!

. I could not find any information on the article where it indicates that the Blu-ray will be released a moth after the DVD.

I saw this film and found it quite awful. It was just so cheesy, the acting was over the top and so was the gore and jeeze Willem Dafoe and his cheesy one liners. They were so bad I was laughing at everything he said. The climax was a bore too.

It was a cool concept but could have been something more. The script was very lacking.

Okay, I'm just gonna assume you're being sarcastic now. Considering the level of violence, I was surprised they got away with an R rating with the film's ending.

Yes because pointless violence makes everything okay.

It doesn't make everything okay, but it doesn't make it boring either. If I sit through a movie with a lot of violence my first reaction isn't to yawn, even if it is pointless. Saying its boring makes it sound like nothing happened in the last twenty minutes.

I felt the violence was inevitable. It was a culmination of the events so far in the story, considering its about a culture losing all self-control.

This movies peeked my interest when I saw the first trailer...but with all the negative reviews I decided to hold off from seeing it...will rent for sure thou

The have a great back catalog. -Artisan, Studio Canal, and Republic Pictures. The should really get the New World Pictures back catalog.

and blah blah. It's lame. Too generic. It's not suspenseful and barely memorable.

Even Ethan Hawke the lead actor of the film admitted he doesn't think it's that good of film. He called it silly.
