Default What do people do with their incompatible discs?

Just ordered the Star Wars steels to swap in my box set discs (hate the pages in the Star Wars box set). Curious to know what people do with the discs that won't play in their region.

Is there a market for loose discs?

I would guess there is a market for them, but how much you will get is anyones guess. I know some people have region free players so they don't have to worry about region coded discs and I have also heard of people buying a steelbook just for the case, swap out with their regions disc and discard the out or region disc.

I would say you should try selling the loose disc on eBay and see what you can get.

I did that with the Indiana Jones Exclusive set from the UK. Obviously I'm not going to make a killing with selling the discs, but another member offered to buy them, and it recouped a little of my UK expense. Win/win for both people I would say.

Not sure why you did this. I've read several postings stating the SW's Steels are region free.

Ahh, ok. I'm hoping The Great Escape is region free.

You won't have to worry about selling any of the discs because of region locking (the steels are region free), but yes, here in the trading forum I'm sure you could sell region-locked discs, assuming you were willing to sell them for the right price.

The steelbooks only contain the films, not the extras disks

I think it's just the movies like the Prequel and Original Trilogies. So no bonus discs.

Yes, they are...I probably should have included that. So, technically, they were not incompatible, but duplicates.
