Default Battle: Los Angeles Sequel in the works

Quote:
Battle: Los Angeles Getting a Sequel: Last year’s Battle: Los Angeles wasn’t a huge hit at the domestic box-office (it made $83 mil, with a production budget of $70 million), but it did do pretty well overseas – where it took in an additional $128 million in box office receipts. Apparently, that’s enough money to have Sony consider making a sequel.

Collider recently caught up with director Jonathan Liebesman while he was doing press for Wrath of the Titans, and the filmmaker had this to say:

“We’ve just started the script now, so that’s where we are. We have just begun the script. Just because I don’t want the studio to get pissed at me, I’m not sure what I can and can’t say about it. But what’s exciting is it sounds like the budget will be as big. They’re really going to make it an event.”

While a Battle: Los Angeles sequel isn’t officially a done deal, it seems like Sony is at least open to the possibility of continuing this franchise. Now the question is where does the Battle go next? We’re voting for Hoboken – Hollywood doesn’t make enough movies about that place.

I enjoyed the first one, but I don't think I'll be in line opening day for a sequel. I would like to see some of the cast return; though, I thought the emotional conflict felt somewhat cliche.

I liked the lack of gore in this film! I disliked the shaky cam and the intensity of cheese. Would be interested to hear the premise, however.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has to be the worst news of all-time. The first movie was an utter piece of crap. 2Girls1Cup had better acting and a better story than the first one. I'd rather watch NORBIT again then have to sit through another one of these films.

I actually loved Battle: Los Angeles, but it isn't the type of movie to warrant a sequel. I feel like it won't be as good as the first one. Making movies just to make money off of them is not a good reason to make them, but what the heck do I know. Sequels to Transformers and The Hangover were rehashes that were only made to make money, and they made a ton of it, but were uber-inferior to the originals. This trend should really stop, or at the very least take a hiatus.

Tell us how you really feel

I didn't love this movie, but I also didn't hate it. I wouldn't mind if there's a sequel.

Battle: LA was OK. It wasn't amazing but it didn't completely suck ass either.

The sequel will be.....Battle: (Insert US state here). Most likely NY, I'd say.

Hostile much? Jeez. I'm just busting your sack, not trying to start an argument on Blu-ray.com. We can be friends if you'd like. We can hug it out like, Ari Gold.

A Kristen Stewart fan talking of crap acting

I actually enjoyed the first. Apart from some lame/corny dialogue it was fun and entertaining

Jeez, i'm really getting hated on in this thread. Thanks, guys! Next thing I know you all will be forming a mob against me.

Actually, Aaron Eckhart was the only redeemable thing about this film IMHO. The rest of the acting was just so poor. Johnathan Liebesman has shown some improvement over time with Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Wrath of the Titans, but this was a step back. If people liked or loved this movie THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE. Feel free to love the hell out of this film, and i'll respect your opinion all the way. It's all subjective and everyone can have their own opinions. That's the great thing about all film.

This kind of movie isn't about the acting or the story it is about the action and IMO it was a really good action flick. Plus the Blu-ray sounds freakin awesome
