Default Reciever Help for Newbie

Hey all,
Right now I have a Sony 5.1 surround sound system I bought from BB a year ago. I want to add a reciever either the Sony STR-DH520 or the ONKYO TX-SR604 but im not sure I can hook my current setup to the reciever.....any help?

You may be able to attach the speakers and subwoofer. But, if the speakers are three or four ohms and if the sub is passive, probably not.

Yes, your front and surround speakers are rated at 3 Ohms. It's likely you would have problems (receiver overheating) driving those at anything more than very low volume with any budget or mid-line receiver.

Not a good idea.
