Perhaps more than any other film franchise, the Bonds seem to be very...particular...with many. Or so I have always gotten the impression. Some only consider the Connery films as "good ones". Others may pass on the Connery ones but like the more humor-laced Bonds done by Roger Moore, etc. Still further, some really like the recent entries by Daniel Craig (and maybe the 60's Bonds) but don't really like anything in between.
In short, any combination in liking these films is possible. Where is your taste when it comes to the films of 007? Are you onboard with the entire franchise, regardless of twists and turns? Or do you have specified preferences for some periods over others? Myself, I'm perhaps a bit unusual in that I like the Connery Bonds, but also have no problem with the Moore films that followed (or Lazenby - in fact, On Her Majesty's Secret Service may be my #1 favorite in the series). I guess I like both Connery and Moore about equal, if just for different reasons. I also seem to like the first couple Dalton entries. But somewhere after The Living Daylights I lose focus on the series. In short, I love my Bond box and am glad to have them all. Yet in practice, I really enjoy the first 15 or so, while the other 9 or 10 just kinda sit in the cases. |
