Is this completely English friendly? I heard something about the opening text being in Italian with no subs.

Yes opening blurb is in italian with no subs.

I believe somewhere in the movie there's a little text saying what country it is and that's in italian too.

Incorrect. Mine showed English translation of the Italian text at the start and during the film for locations etc.

From the international thread -

The opening text and location text in the film are in Italian yes. But...they are also translated into English on screen at the same time. So it looks a little bit more messy perhaps but youre not missing anything.

Its completely English friendly. The only bit that isn't is the names of the different extras on the menu screen - its a bit hard to work out which extra is which but the extras themselves are all fine and Italian subtitles can be switched off as normal.

Its a no-brainer if youre a fan of the film and I hope the description on this thread updates to show that. I have no idea about region status though.

Also this from yesterday -

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just watched Kingdom of Heaven DC (Italian one - Le Crociate)

You might want to add this to the description - Its got a whole load of extras including the Laurizika 2.5 hour documentary, two commentaries and other bits and pieces - same as the DVD SE I think. All the extras have removable Italian subtitles and are in English of course.

Also - unlike the barebones UK blu (not sure about the US blu) it has the Ridley Scott intro (same as the DVD SE) and it also has the Overture and Intermission (black screens with music) at the start and mid point of the film making the film a fair bit longer compared to the UK blu for instance.

The AQ was half the bitrate of the UK one - looked like it averaged about 2.0 compared to double that on the UK one. Having said that, the AQ sounded fantastic to me and I couldn't tell any difference, one of the best soundtracks Ive heard in a while actually. I did try to compare the UK blu with this one and the Italian one did seem slightly better I think.

Any fan of the film needs to get this one I think - Im certainly happy!
