I'm working with the following:
Polk Monitor 30's Dayton Audio 10" Sub Dayton Audio DTA-100A amp ASUS Xonar DG (sound card) Apparently my sound card does not offer a true 2.1 setup. They instruct you to feed the sub with the line out, then run your speaker wires out of the sub to the bookshelf speakers. Since I have an amp specifically for my bookshelves, I would want to run the line in to the Dayton amp, then run the speaker wires to the subs high level input and high level output. But wouldn't that somewhat cancel out the signal from the Dayton amp and cause the Sub only to power the bookshelves? Or is it strictly pass through? I'm a little confused by this. I would still like to control the bookshelves volume by the amp. |
