Saw this at the cinema last year and I really enjoyed it. I love Clive Owen but I wasn't sure if I'd really like the movie after seeing countless films about the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland over the years- the most recent ones being 'Hunger' with Michael Fassbender and 'Fifty Dead Men Walking' (Jim Sturgess, Ben Kingsley).
Well, I was glued to the screen the whole way through and thought the acting and overall story was brilliant. 4 out of 5 for picture quality sounds about right- I felt the muted colors and slightly grim look suited the mood and time period perfectly. I'd rate this up there along with 'In The Name Of The Father' as my top films about the troubles in the North of Ireland. One of the best films I saw in 2012. Can't wait to pick up the bluray. ![]() Last edited by Dubliner1; 01-29-2013 at 09:26 PM. |

Just learned about this film when checking out Andrea Riseborough's IMDB page (after watching Oblivion). Will definitely check this out as I have an interest in things Irish
![]() Other films about The Troubles that you can suggest dubliner? I've seen 50 Dead Men Walking, In The Name Of The Father, The Wind That Shakes The Barley and Michael Collins. What else should I check out? |
