Default DVE Calibration & Green Filter

Hi all, yesterday i received my Blu-ray copy of DVE calibration disk, when i try to set the colours using the filters provided i can get blue and red exact but not green, its almost as if the green filter is not strong enough to block out the colours, is this something im doing wrong or are the filters not accurate?

Ive been doing this on my panasonic AE3000 projector and today thought i'd try it on my laptop with built in blu-ray drive and got the same results.

See pics attached taken through filters with DVE on my laptop (pics are for a rough idea of what i mean as they do make it seem worse than it is).

Color filters are only reliable with CRT displays, so you are probably going to notice some error with an LCD display. I wouldn't worry about it.

So what are you saying, they can't be used for calibrating a projector?

What should i do ? try and get the blue and red as close as i can and not worry about the green ?

Honestly, the blue and red usually aren't right either. You can use them to get you close, but you can't trust them 100% with LCD/DLP/LcOS. You may need to make a few adjustments after the fact. If you follow the blue filter perfectly, you picture is probably over-saturated and the tint will be a little off. I would set the tint at the middle (you may need to move it, but not very much, just trust your eye on regular content), and back color off about 3-5 clicks from where you set it with the filter. That should get you close.

You would be better off not using the filters and use the calibration process at curtpalme.com.

I used it on my plasma and have had great results.

Default Blue Filter & Color Balance

Hello

I hope that this information is helpful; you might read the DVE Information further to understand the necessary details of using the filters for color adjustment.
__________________________________________________ ______________

Blue Filter l This is the only filter that is used for adjustment in the normal user adjustment mode.

Red Filter l Used only to check color accuracy of the Color Management.

Green Filter l Used only to check the color accuracy of the Color Management.

To be clear here; color adjustment using the color bars signal, is always and only done using the blue filter in this mode of user available adjustment.
__________________________________________________ ______________

Normally, the red and green color filters are to check the color accuracy of the color decoder only, in the normal user adjustment mode of the display by users.
__________________________________________________ ______________

Furthermore, if either the red or green are indeed out of balance, they are then adjusted [Professionally] in the Color Management of the display; if available.

[Inaccuracies of the red and green are only adjusted in the color decoder itself, using Color Management; if available.]
__________________________________________________ ______________

No offense to anyone, but this information should be clear within DVE or on the site for DVE where further documentation is available.

Thank You
