Pioneer Elite SC-71 and SC-72 A/V Receivers

Pioneer today introduced two 7.2-channel home theater A/V receivers in the Elite line, models SC-71 and SC-72, which feature Class D amplification, multi-zone and multi-source capability, 4K Ultra HD upscaling, high-resolution audio playback and the convenience of wireless control via Pioneer’s proprietary iControlAV2013 App.

4K Ultra HD Upscaling
Both SC receivers support the next generation 4K Ultra HD resolution standard to provide the highest quality video image available, with the ability to pass through 4K video signals to any compatible displays. The models also have the ability to upscale lower resolution analog and HDMI video signals for viewing in 4K Ultra HD resolution when used with the latest 4K displays.

Pioneer Elite SC-72 → $1,400 (available June 2013)

Keep in mind that MCAAC hasn't been changed since '04 and doesn't calibrate the sub below 50hz.

Where Audyssey xt32 goes down to 10hz region.

No argument on Audyssey vs MCAAC. Does make you wonder if they will eventually switch room equalization methods?

I will probably purchase another Pioneer Elite AVR in the future as I am quite satisfied with the way they perform. MCCAC does still work well with speakers though XT32 is indeed superior when it come to auto calibration. Lucky for me I have my trusty SVS AS-EQ1 to handle my subs
