My BD collection has gotten larger enough for me to go and get a second player for the upstairs bedroom. I am considering either a second PS3 (40Gb) or the new Panny. If I get the Panny, it will replace the PS3 on the main system and the PS3 will be moved upstairs. My PS3 right mow is used 99.9% for BD playback. I understand the technical differences but I just don't know which way I want to go at this point. Which way would you go and why?
Thanks, DJ |

Im in line for this question too, Im actually about to return my 10AK and pick up either the 40Gig PS3 or the 30 - ha, I might end up returning the 10AK tomorrow, picking up the PS3 on Monday, then returning that and buying the 30 as soon as it comes out, hopefully, as they say, on the 12th of Nov.

I spoke to somebody with a lot of money to burn once and he had setup a number of audio systems in his house but bought the same set of speakers in each room, maybe around $3000 for each pair (R+L). I asked him why not choose different speakers for different rooms since you have the money, you could have more choices. But his response was that he tried it once but in the end always had a favorite speaker of all the ones he bought so he ended up spending all his time in one room when listening to music. So then he replaced them and now has 5 sets of the same speakers. So maybe you end up with that problem, you have a preference of one over the other and then it will end up being a dust collector. |

Easy, is it going to go where you have a nice new receiver (or prepro) that can decode the new formats?
If so, go with the Panny. The PS3 will never bitstream out the new formats as currently built. |
