Default A list of better quality 2k disc supplied in a 4k release

Hey... Im not looking to upgrade to 4k so please don't turn this thread into it.

I’m looking for a list in which the 2k version supplied with the 4k is superior to the stand alone release.

For instance, unforgiven has a lossless track on its 2k disc where the stand alone is lossy.

I tend to miss a lot of releases because of the separate 4k forum.

Thanks...

You mean the included Blu-Ray is better than the previously released Blu-Rays?

Warner's releases of the four Batman films would be an example. The included Blu-Rays all featured the same (new) remasters that are on the 4K discs, but they haven't released the Blu-Rays individually from the 4K releases yet.

I noticed you didn't open the "revised audio" can of worms. Good for you!

Oops...

On the contrary, I thought I read the blu packed in with the 4k Apocalypse Now was worse than the standard release. But that's just going by memory; I haven't tested it out.

You’re honestly not going to find that many. A few other examples are The Shining, 2001 and The Matrix. A lot of studios don’t seem to care about this or are inconsistent like WB. You say you don’t want to upgrade to 4K, but you’re not gonna get a lot of updated blu-rays in the future.

Didnt 2001 get its own release? I will have to look into the shining.
