Akira first pressing value?

Hey,

I'm in the process of thinning out the collection and I can't seem to find any recent info on this release. Any idea what's the value of this version? (it's open btw)

It doesn’t have any “value” other than what someone might pay for it. It’s not a collectible. Put it on eBay and see what people bid on it.

Looking at EBay shows 2 for sale - 1 is sealed and they are asking for around $95, the other has a Buy It Now price of $40.

Completed listings show 1 sold in January for $40, another sold for $7.50.

Never underestimate the ability of an art book to pull in an Anime collector!

As already stated: Check ebay. The fact it is a Limited Edition with a slipcover and artbook should mean that you might be able to generate more than handful of bucks a resale site might offer you for it. You're really gonna have to chek ebay to see.

EDIT: jrs got in there before me! Yeah looking at those two values it confirms what I thought: It's not generally seen as much of a collectible, but there are collectors out there who have just got to have that Artbook + Slipcover LE to join their Akira colllection. Obviously though, there can't be many of these completionists out there so you'll be listing it on a wing and a prayer.

I'm only familiar with the DVD version of this title. Does the blu-ray fix the telecine wobble?
