Well screencaps look good to me , grain is visible , black levels are spot on , and colours look the same as they did in theater , another solid transfer from yrf(undoubtedly the best in indian home video)
however this 96k upsampling shit and including 2 lossless tracks ,that too in a 3 hour movie is beyond me , anyone with proper equipment please confirm does this 96k upsampling do any good? p.s i could be wrong in evaluating screenshots , hav'nt tested them on my usual display , instead on a 4.8 inch s.amoled ![]() |

Missed this at the theaters, so got it's BD and was impressed by the picture quality as well as the audio! though was a poor story line, didn't expect this to come out this was instead expected something like Veer Zaara, but oh well had fun watching it as SRK was on screen!!! NO COMPLAINTS

Got this just for the songs as my 4 year old loves Jiya Jiya.
Video's are quite a good watch. However, when we tried a scene or 2 both myself and the wife agreed it was best to go back to the songs as the scene's were a reminder as to just how bad this movie was. The Mrs quite rightly points out that this may have been more viewable with a younger main lead. SRK look like a rotten aged apple in this one. All that smoking and subsequent botox jabs have left him looking odd. As the wife says, much of the pleasure comes from watching attractive 'easy on the eye' people on screen. SRK wasn't remotely easy on the eye. He just wasn't suited to the role in my view. Ranbir kapoor may have been a better option though he may've struggled with the older character... The plot holes were just endless though. For starters.. come on.. 10 years ago, SRK singing Challa at a train station with the Olympic Logo's up at a london station were only too indicative of London 2012! Perhaps singlehandedly the most dissapointing movie of 2012. |

I wouldn't call it a disappointment, simply because I really did not expect anything great from a Chopra/Shahrukh movie anyhow. But the movie does get my overwhelming vote for the most retrograde bollywood movie of 2012. It's really hard to believe, in today's day and time, that such a pathetically stupid script could be written, let alone actually approved to be filmed. I wouldn't even know where to begin with, to talk about the never ending list of flaws and stupidities in the movie. I suppose one could start with the obvious miscasting of Shahrukh in the lead role of a man in his early twenties. Can't think of a single redeeming thing about the movie. It is a real shame for such an illustrious career as Yash Chopra's, a career laced with bold and path breaking movies, to end with such retrogressive crap.
Although the movie being bad itself is not surprising, what is surprising though, is the relatively poor/below average video quality of the blu-ray. The picture suffers from inordinate amounts of NR resulting in a very soft and waxy picture. NOT Recommended Blu-ray rating: Movie: 2.0/5.0 Video: 3.0/5.0 Audio: 4.0/5.0 (DTS HD-MA 5.1) Last edited by sanjay0864; 07-20-2013 at 08:56 AM. |

Kind of agree on the movie , The script was hugely flawed , but strangely i found PQ To be Amazing on my usual settings (On a 46 inches Samsung LED-TV) , maybe your PJ Revealed many of the hidden Picture screw-ups in the BD , But from my viewing distance the picture appeared to be very sharp , with grain visible and spot-on colour/contrast levels , i actually found its PQ to be better than most of the Blu-Rays released last year. (Bollywood Only)

You will have to decide it for self
As for some it is a classic, while some consider it as a disaster. Though for me it is a good one from Yash Chopra, but not a classic. Give it a watch, before adding to your collection. |
