LCD Calibration - Blu-ray Forum

I have read alot of people talking about having this done or already have had it done . My question is which way to go with it is best , should i buy a dvd calibration disc and do it myself , and if so which one is best ? and or should i pay to have it done and how much should i look to spend having it done ? any feedback in this would be greatly appreciated .

Sony KDS-60A3000 60" BRAVIA A series rear projection LCD , The picture is great i got it about a month ago but from what i have heard i might be able to tweek it a little and have a better quality picture than i currently do .

There is no disc that can calibrate your TV. There is a disc that can help you make adjustments. A colibration is when a laptop is hooked up to the service port on the back of the set and a program literally changes how the TV set works. You probably cannot calibrate your TV.

If it's an LCD projector and you just bought it, my absolute best advice after I've seen all the independant tests - take it back and get a DLP. Your LCD panel and polarizer in the unit will start to yellow after 1400 hrs., whether you replace bulbs or not.

Panel... all the discs are good but it depends what you want to do exactly. Color, contrast, brightness etc. are easy.

Have a professional calibrate it. Their instruments are FAR more accurate than your DVD, and they can adjust for more things than the DVD set up can.
In fact a good calibrator will fix your sound as well as your video and make sure everything is connected right for optimal video/audio.
Worth every penny.

Never mind. searched it out and found some comforting info about the issue.
