I concur with this statement. IF a price drop occurs, it will be closer to E3 than it will to PS4 launch. They will want to make it far enough away from PS4 launch so as to not make people either resent having finally bought a PS3 only to be faced with the PS4 option shortly thereafter, or decide to buy a PS3 instead of a PS4 because of a new fantastic price on PS3 just as PS4 launches.

I see a price drop announcement at E3 that way it will give the customers time to purchase new PS3's and when the PS4 is released customers will purchase that too. In a marketing standpoint I don't see a price reduction at launch of PS4.

And with the PS4 being so cheap at 399... I think on the last day of E3, Sony would say "oh by the way, the ps3 is now 249"
