Default Planet Of The Apes BD Re-Release Jun 17, 2014

Anyone know what the new Planet Of The Apes BD is going to contain?
It comes out in about 2 months and I am wondering what for? New transfer? New Extras? Better cover? (I hope.)

I don't know any of the details about this release. I have the collection on DVD and Blu-Ray and Digital. I don't see myself ever purchasing these movies again. I really like the series, I just don't know what they could do that would make me want them in another release.

I am really tired of FOX'S lazy way of releasing all the APE films. I've been purchasing them from Beta to Laser to DVD and Blu-ray. There is very little that is new with each release. It's the same old trailers. Never alternates. No TV Spots, or Radio Spots. Yet, some of these have shown up on youtube. Add to that FOX's mix up with the sound on PLANET OF THE APES. It's the same poorly mix 5.1. If you listen to the French 5.1 mix the stereo is much better for the music and effects. All they have to do is swap the dialog, really. I the original 4-track mix was lost years ago (real sloppy FOX) but this 5.1 mix is terrible. They know they have popular titles yet they invest very little into releasing them. The EVOLUTION release in the book was nice but all the apes featured on the cover weren't even actors from the films! Instead they opted to use people dressed up from a wacky fan club! What's next a Marilyn Monroe Box set with fan based transvestites from a fan group! It's disgusting how smaller independent companies gain the rights to film thrown away by the majors and out do the majors putting together bonus materials and packaging. PLANET was supposedly restored and re-mastered I hope they have the sense to use it with a newly remixed 5.1 soundtrack. From a listing I saw online it looks like this new release is a re-hash of the one previously released. It has the same bonus materials; although the new cover art is based on the original theatrical poster - but they goofed it again by putting an ape from BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES (Ursus) as well - dopes.http://www.foxconnect.com/planet-of-the-apes-3010.html
Also they've re-released the EVOLUTION box set to include RISE

It just pisses me off that they treat this series like crap.

I don't have any issue with my SDCC exclusive release so I can't imagine I'll pick this up unless it's a marked improvement
