Question of Region coding

So what happens if you put a bluray disc in a player that is a region locked disc, for instance I live in the US and have a Sony player...if I were to put a Region B disc in would it mess up the disc, or what would happen?

I'm sure others may have asked/thought this but I didn't see any threads...thanks

You can't mess up the disc. The player will simply pop up a message on screen telling you it won't play. It may also eject it - that's all.

Have you guys tried the menu trick?

When the "wrong region" error message comes up press "stop" then "menu" if it works it'll take you to the main menu and you can play the film.

It works with quite afew Region A discs on Region B players.

I'll have to try that...but I'm going from Region B disc to a Region A player so it might not...
