Default US edition of sanctuary season one

Good afternoon folks!

I got a question and was wondering whether you could help me out. I got the US edition of Sanctary season one. I live in Germany, which is why I can only use American discs that are region free. On the back of the aforementioned blu ray, it says that it's region-free. However, after trying to run it with my region code B player, an error message popped up stating that My player does not have the required region code.

I now wondered whether it is possible to exchange my disc for a European version, considering that the problem wasn't really my fault? The distributor of the disc doesn't state an email address on his website, so I'm asking whether it's worthwhile to push? Does any of you guys have experience with such matters?

Many thanks, Immortalis.

Always read the region coding information: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sanct.../#RegionCoding

It says it will work if you press the return, or top menu button on your player

It Will Play on a Region B PS3 or Blu-ray player If you press the return button on your remote when the "This Disc Won't play in your region screen" comes up.

If you don't press the return button the disc wont play.

Could you post a picture of the back cover? It's strange that it would say region free or ABC on the back and still need a workaround to get it to play on region B machines.

Hey guys,

thanks a lot for your answers - the proposed soultion unfortunately doesn't work, though. I tried it with two different players (Sony and Toshiba brands).

Here's a link to the requested pictures - the error message as well as the back cover: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/wvvr1nbj5wmre4n/DFNZKhGb-8

Cheers, Immortalis.
