United Kingdom Cold Mountain - 26th September 2011

Up for pre-order now at Play. Typically high price at £17.99, but I'll definiely pick this up when it's cheaper. Been waiting a while for this one.

Good film, and I haven't seen it in ages either. Should look great on Blu-ray. Won't be a day 1 purchase at that price but definitely pick it up when cheaper.

There are soooooooo many films being announced for release before Christmas. This is good news for the Blu-ray market in general...bad news for my bank balance!

Thumbs up

Cold Mountain is a massively underrated film that so desperately deserves a good Blu-ray release. This is great news.

I've found this film strangely underwhelming on the two or three occasions I've watched it but, as the BD has been announced, maybe I'll give my DVD another try to see if I can find my way into it more.

No reviews? Screenshots? Comparisons with the (awful) current BD in US and Canada?

Not surprised considering the £16.99 price tag for a no-frills catalogue title that has a good chance of having a similar lacklustre transfer as across the pond

Default Great Blu-ray

I rented this after the horror of Talented Mr Ripley and Emma but it looks and sounds fantastic. Buy with confidence!

Yeah it looks pretty good. Not quite demo material but I was pleased with it. Haven't watched it all the way through yet but had a quick look a various scenes. I picked this up a few days ago in HMV's 2 for £15 deal (along with The Others)

Is it a direct port of the US Lionsgate edition or has it change like Studio Canal/Optimum did with The English Patient?
