Today, Disney officially announces re-make/imagining Race to Witch Mountain for DVD and Blu-ray release on August 4th. Per the studio's current methods, two DVDs and one Blu-ray/DVD combo will be offered. DVD consumers can choose between a barebones single-disc ($29.99 SRP) and a 2-Disc Deluxe Edition ($39.99 SRP) holding deleted scenes, bloopers, an audio commentary, the Sprouse Brothers' Blu-ray infomercial, and a digital copy. Blu-ray buyers have no choice but to opt for the 3-disc combo ($44.99 SRP) carrying a Blu-ray disc, the Deluxe Edition's standard DVD, and the digital copy DVD-ROM. Extras exclusive to this set are the featurette "Which Mountain?" and unspecified BD-Live content. All versions will offer a widescreen-only feature presentation.

The Blu-ray version of Race to Witch Mountain will benefit from 2.35:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio 48kHz/24-bit. One bonus feature on the Blu-ray is exclusive while the two-disc DVD includes an exclusive bonus feature of its own that is essentially an advertisement for upgrading to Blu-ray.
