Default Are SD HC SDHC memory cards supported

Apparently not all SD equipment supports the new SDHC standard for high capacity memory cards, does the PS3?

I've been able to play back video from both 4GB and 16GB SDHC cards in my 60GB PS3 (from a Panasonic camcorder that records AVC to these cards).
