United Kingdom Gladiator Disc Replacement Program (UK)

Do you think this applies to all European customers (like Saving Private Ryan)? I think so.

Quote:
Universal (which holds the UK rights to the movie) is also setting up an exchange program, and is sending the following instructions: "If you wish to exchange your original DVNR (digital video noise reduction) feature disc we ask that you send us just your disc 1 in an envelope with your name and address enclosed. Please keep your original packaging and we will post you out a new disc 1."

Disc 1 should be mailed to the following address:

Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd
'Gladiator Exchange'
Prospect House
80-110 New Oxford Street
London
WC1A 1HB

I'm not going to bother, it's not that big of a deal for me. But it's good that they are doing this, at least it shows that Universal care about their customers.

Will they sell this new version in the shops ? I assume they have stopped making the old copy and it will get replaced in time.

Universal did say that the disc's wouldn't be available for about a month (2 weeks ago).

I sent mine around a week ago. I'm expecting to get my new copy in September. To be honest, I'm not really desperate as I don't watch the film often so I'm not losing any sleep over it. It'll come when it comes

To the guys who sent theirs off.

Did you just send the disc in an envelope or did you send it in a case for protection?

Was it sent recorded?

Default Gladiator Disc replacement Update...

Universal Pictures International have today confirmed the new disc will be dispatched next week. Unfortunately the disc was delayed,
The new disc will be dispatched nationwide next week.

Universal has thousands of these discs to send out, so hopefully it won't be long before you receive yours too.

Like so many others, I am expecting an awesome transfer of this great film and
I await this new disc with anticipation and excitement.

I've been in contact with universal, and they have confirmed what they are doing by replacing the original disc which was returned to them by myself and others in exchange for the brand new remastered version.

I hope I've answered your question.

What question? We knew that this was what Universal were doing, but not when. Now we do.
