Dunno how many people here are a fan of the band Metric, but they just put out a Blu-ray/DVD combo of their two hour concert film Dreams So Real. It's currently being sold through PledgeMusic and is apparently getting a retail release at some point down the road. (It has a UPC, anyway.) They're shipping out of Toronto, so brace yourself for some potentially long shipping times (on top of the fact that the whole project shipped four months later than promised).
![]() Produced in 4K, and there's a 4K download via PledgeMusic too. Nice to see a wider aspect ratio used. I haven't actually watched it yet, so I can't speak to the quality of Dreams So Real as a movie. It's on a BD-25, and, annoyingly, there's no lossless audio. You have a choice between Dolby Digital 5.1 (448kbps) or stereo (192kbps). ![]() ![]() ![]() Songs featured:
(I'm not connected to Metric or this PledgeMusic campaign, so please don't mistake this as spam. ![]() |

Yeah. I had a good experience with PledgeMusic the first time I used it several years ago, but two back-to-back disappointments have turned me off probably ever using 'em again. I'd wait for retail too if I were you. (Plus it'll probably be cheaper.)
The Dreams So Real team vanished. They'd post some updates about the campaign to Facebook but not to PledgeMusic (?!), and they stopped replying to comments/questions. There'd be updates every once in a while, but they weren't nearly as communicative as they should've been. ...and I'm still waiting on a Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. CD that was supposed to ship in April, and communication (of any useful information, anyway) has been dismal there too. |

Been curious about this. Wish Lost Kitten and The Void were on the film, but that's ok, I see them opening for Smashing Pumpkins in Portland at the end of the month.

Thank you. I'll probably buy the BluRay and download the two variants of the 4K Download.
$25 is not bad for the BluRay. But I imagine the shipping charges are high so if I can't scrape up whatever that total is I might just buy the $20 download. |

Shipping was an incredibly specific $4.37 for me. The receipt indicates that they also charge tax for NY residents.
