I'm collecting every best picture nominee that has been released on Blu-ray, and I'm confused as to what to do with films like the three named above.
Basically I just need to know if there is any difference in the film itself between the big box collector editions and the regular original Blu-Ray releases. For example, the Casablanca released in September 2009, vs. the 70th Anniversary limited edition from 2012. I'm not interested in any special features or extras, I just want the film in the optimal quality possible, preferably in a regular Blu-Ray case. Is the transfer/master of these sorts of films identical across all Blu-Ray releases? |
