Did you see it in 3D or 2D? I had a chance to see this 3D movie on Panasonic 3DTV, but found something wrong, some scenes seem to have 3D focus issues. Anyone experienced such an issue?

Had a quick run though on this one, movie looks okish but i have still not got round to watching the whole thing, the 3D depth looks pretty good however watching this on a panasonic there are signs of ghosting in various scenes that i have scene, example at the start where they are sitting on the pier i noticed a few ghosting points but they seemed to quickly vanish.
As for the movie ill try and sit through this one but seems to be a political movie with a slash of horror added into it. It not going to be anywhere close to the standard of the Grudge from which i was hoping. |

Got a copy from YesAsia (nice and fast + good price) over the weekend. Can also confirm it's at least region A (probably free).
Haven't watched yet, but DID watch the trailer...and the 3D was EXCELLENT in my opinion. You could really tell this was shot in 3D as opposed to converted. I hope the whole movie is just as good! Last edited by SapGoblin; 03-21-2011 at 07:34 PM. |

I picked this movie up in China Town Nagasaki hoping it was going to be good.
Sadly I must say, this was horrible. Not the 3D but the movie itself. Such a lame plot and things that just didn't make any sense. Its in Chinese but has English subtitles. However, often the subtitles say funny things like a bad translation. I understood the hotel was haunted by the ghost of some guys wife, and his wife liked dogs but killed them all and she died. But what the heck was up with her giving birth to a half human half dog baby?! ![]() I would not suggest anyone getting this in my opinion. On a good note though, the 3D was not so bad. I watched the Region A Blu-Ray 3D a while back, I wouldn't be as harsh as Bravia.
I haven't seen anything by the Pang Bros that I thought was really exceptional. - But, y'know, for spooky ghost story / supernatural stuff - usually the less things are explained the better - and I can appreciate a few WTF? kind of moments... at least it's not some dude in a hockey mask chasing teens down w/ a machete for the umpteenth time. It does have some creepy scenes but it gets less scary as it goes along. The ghost-detecting dog (the real dog - not the human/ dog) stole every scene it was in and its expression just made the wife and I laugh. That alone made this movie a keeper for us. ... This thread compelled me to take another look at this on the big screen and was struck by how well photographed it is. The 3D is very good - angles and camera placement is well thought out. I'm liking it more on my second run through. So after that ringing endorsement - LOL - here is a link: http://www.yesasia.com/us/the-childs...0-en/info.html Last edited by hotandserious; 09-02-2011 at 08:49 PM. |
