Default Favorite "Gulity Pleasure" movies.

What are some of your favorite "Guilty Pleasure" movies? Or movies that most people don't like that you like anyways. Or movies you're embarrassed to like.

To me I actually quite like the recent M. Night Shyamalan films. This may be me being bias because i've been a HUGE M. Night fan since I was 9 years old (The first time I saw The Sixth Sense in theaters). I know most people didn't like Lady in the Water, The Happening, and The Last Airbender, but I found some enjoyment in them. I mainly really liked Lady in The Water.

I also quite like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, and just recently I actually enjoyed the Judy Moody movie (I know, I know). I guess i'm just a sucker for live action kid movies. Grease 2 is another one as well.

What are yours???

my horrible HORRIBLE guilty pleasures are:

Joe Dirt
Corky Romano
Little Nicky

I have NO idea why I like them but I do. And believe me I know how bad they are but they work for me.

Thumbs up Various films.

I love movies with no substance, which I'm sure you can tell from my collection. Just fun films that are great to watch. Like The Mummy movies. But only the first two. I also love Monsoon Wedding, although I'd never admit it in person, so it's a gulity pleasure movie for me. I also like a lot of the kids movies that I grew up with.

I really like those "movies so bad, they're good" kind of movies, such as 'Planet Terror', 'Machete', 'MacGruber', and 'Black Dynamite'.

Role Models.

Everything about that movie screamed 'trainwreck' but I laughed my ass off and still couldn't tell you why.

When this kind of question comes up, there's always the same few movies which spring to mind...

The Wizard (1989)
The Rocketeer (1991)
Last Action Hero (1993)
The Shadow (1994)
Street Fighter (1994)
The Phantom (1996)

Despite all the naysayers, I enjoy each and every one of them.

I would have to go with Grown Ups - hilarious! I also laugh a ton during Master of Disguise which isn't on Blu yet. I got the DVD of that for $1.00 though, so I'm not complaining.

August Rush and Ghost. I'd say many consider them to be geared more towards women, but I enjoy them quite a bit.

I've heard that a lot of people who like so bad they're good films like it. I've never seen it. I only like those films if I've with a whole bunch of people and we can rag on the movie.

How dare you sir, Last Action Hero is a brilliantly written classic!!

"Leo the Fart, will pass gas one last time"

Point Break and Road House. Never understood all the hate over these two movies. I was a huge Swayze fan growing up and these still remain favorites of mine today. But I'm not embarrassed I love them, I use to have the posters on my walls in high school and recommend them to lots of people who want to have a good time watching some classic Swayze.

Back when Netflix used to have Fan-lists, I had a list of the 15 Most Unfairly Persecuted Movies in recent history:

Of course Shadow and Street Fighter were on it (Rocketeer was too forgotten to be "persecuted"), along with the other Same Few Classics frequently defended round these parts:
- Xanadu
- Halloween III
- The "Disney Flop" trilogy of Princess & the Frog, Treasure Planet and Home on the Range
- GI Joe: the Rise of Cobra
- The Blair Witch Project
- The Happening
- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

(...Which is the problem in terms, as "guilt" shouldn't exist when defending the innocent against injustice and oppression. )
