I hope this has a better 3D restoration of The Flesh and Blood Show than the US disc.

Pity they didn't include his final film House of the Long Shadows. That way you'd have ALL his horror films in one set.

Fabulous haven’t long had the rights to that one, also different company. I’m pretty sure all the ones in this are from the same licensor, where HOTLS is MGM.

I have not heard about these movies before, but I'm vaguely intrigued. Is there any place to see one of them to potentially influence me towards buying the set?

Already got 'die screaming marianne' which I enjoyed. Haven't seen any of the others, but like 70's films and especially 70s British horror. Will be ordering this. That box set looks really nice.

I absolutely adore FRIGHTMARE and consider it to be one of the crown jewels of '70s British horror. (Hey, I was able to make a coronation reference after all! )

I watched Frightmare on YouTube and wasn’t that into it. I found most aspects of filmmaking that I usually try to take into account when rating to be competent but average. The acting was good, though. As was the sound. But I didn’t even enjoy the overall tone of it.

Is it representative of the rest of the movies in the set?

There are some spoilers, but this article about Walker's work with writer David McGillivray should give you a good taste of these films: https://www.horrifiedmagazine.co.uk/...d-mcgillivray/

I hope they take the time to get the 3d aligned properly, and not just chuck it out like Shout have done with gtheir 3d releases.

It was pretty bad on the US disc but at least they included the sequence as an extra. The German mediabook edition dropped it entirely so I hope the same doesn't happen here, this edition desperately needs to have a 3D viewing option...

For my money, Die Marianne Screaming is easily the worst film in this set (I've not seen The Flesh & Blood Show so not including that). But the run from House Of Whipcord through to The Comeback is great.

Looks like this set should handily beat the US blu transfers which had lots of print damage.

No, that's what worries me. If it's not properly restored for this release then it probably never will be. It's not even like the whole movie is in 3D so I hope 88 can make the effort to get it right...
